BIOTIC CONDITIONS

Rodents abundance evaluation:

Breeding conditions:

Waders arrived in late May. Among them only Red and Red-necked Phalaropes, and Temmink's Stints were numerous, while Wood and Common Sandpipers, Common and Pintail Snipes reduced their numbers. Great Knots and Little Curlews occupied their usial habitats in the lower reaches of Omolon River. Wader nests in the mouth of Chukotchya River yet contained mostly incomplete clutches in the end of third week of June. In late June clutches of both phalarope species and Temmink's Stints suffered noticeably from predation by Herring and Glaucous Gulls. In spite of the cold summer results of bird reproduction were, probably, satisfactory.
